Terms of Service

Effective June 8, 2026

These terms govern your use of Moontuck. By creating an account or starting a free trial, you agree to them. We have tried to write them in plain English. If anything is unclear, write to contact@moontuck.com.

1. Who can use Moontuck

You must be at least 18 years old, and the parent or legal guardian of any child whose information you add to the service. You agree that you have the right to share that information with us for the purpose of personalizing the stories.

2. Your account

You are responsible for what happens under your account. Keep your password to yourself, and tell us right away if you suspect someone else has access.

3. The free trial

• New accounts get the first 7 nights free.
• You can cancel any time during the trial and you will not be charged.
• If you do not cancel, the subscription you selected will start automatically when the trial ends and the payment method on file will be charged.

4. Subscription and billing

• Plans are billed monthly ($9.00) or annually ($59.00) at the price shown when you subscribed.
• Subscriptions renew automatically until you cancel.
• We may change pricing in the future, but never on a current billing cycle. We will give you clear notice before any change takes effect on your account.
• Payments are processed by Stripe under their own terms. We never see your full card number.

5. Cancellation and refunds

• You can cancel anytime from your account settings. It takes two taps.
• When you cancel, your subscription remains active through the end of the period you paid for. We don’t prorate partial periods.
• If something genuinely went wrong on our end, write to us. We are reasonable people and will refund where it’s fair to do so.

6. The stories we send

Moontuck generates an ongoing personalized bedtime story for your child, delivered by email. Stories are written using a combination of an AI model and human review guardrails. We do our best to keep every chapter age-appropriate, kind, and safe for little ones — but we cannot guarantee a particular story will perfectly fit every family or every mood. If a chapter ever feels off, tell us; we’ll fix the saga’s direction and use your feedback to improve the safeguards.

Stories are generated for your personal, family use. Re-publishing them as your own work, selling them, or feeding them into a separate commercial product is not allowed.

7. Your library

While your subscription is active, your library of past chapters is available to you to read and download. If you cancel, the library stays accessible for 90 days so you can come back without losing it. After that we delete it unless you ask us to keep it longer.

8. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

• Use Moontuck for anything illegal or harmful.
• Try to break, probe, scrape, or overload the service.
• Reverse-engineer or copy the service to build a competing one.
• Submit story preferences, names, or feedback intended to produce content that is sexual, violent, hateful, or otherwise inappropriate for children. Our guardrails will block it and your account may be suspended.
• Share your account with someone outside your household.

9. Intellectual property

Moontuck (the brand, site, design, code, and underlying systems) belongs to us. The story text generated specifically for your child — once it has been delivered to you — is yours to read aloud, print, save, and share within your family. We may use the same underlying characters and themes for other families; the specific text you receive will be your family’s.

10. Disclaimers

Moontuck is provided “as is” and “as available”. We do our best to keep the service running and the chapters arriving on time, but we don’t warrant that delivery will be uninterrupted, error-free, or perfectly suited to every child. The stories are bedtime entertainment, not professional advice of any kind.

11. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent allowed by law, Moontuck and its team are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for any loss of data, profits, or goodwill, arising from your use of the service. Our total liability to you for any claim related to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50, whichever is greater. Some jurisdictions don’t allow these limits, so they may not apply to you.

12. Indemnification

You agree to defend and hold Moontuck harmless from claims arising out of your misuse of the service or your violation of these terms.

13. Termination

You can close your account at any time. We can suspend or close accounts that violate these terms, that put other users at risk, or that we are required to close by law. If we do, we will refund any unused prepaid time unless the violation was serious.

14. Changes to these terms

We will update these terms from time to time. If a change is material, we will email you and post a notice on the site before it takes effect. Continuing to use Moontuck after the change means you accept the updated terms.

15. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, United States, without regard to its conflict of laws rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Missouri, and you agree to that jurisdiction.
